Fairytale Museum

The Fairy Tale Museum opened its doors on February 23, 2017 and invites young adults to the magical world of fairy tales.

The red thread of oral tradition unravels at the Fairy Tale Museum and fairy tales, myths and legends meet the written word of children’s literature and invite us on a magical journey through culture and tradition.

The main objectives of the Museum are to save and spread the cultural heritage that includes fairy tales, legends, myths and traditions from Cyprus and Greece, to highlight the universality of fairy tales, to get to know other cultures through their fairy tales and to develop a love of reading.

The semantic axis of the Museum revolves around the main characteristics of fairy tales (the alteration of time, the change of scale, their universality) and expresses them three-dimensionally, playing with these elements and developing, original and unexpected, the idea of the “magical library” ».

At the Fairy Tale Museum young and old can explore the Fairy Tale through interactive exhibits, have the opportunity to admire rare books and works of art inspired by fairy tales and study the fairy tale through the collection housed in the study hall.

The Fairy Tale Museum organizes fairy tale tellings, thematic exhibitions, tributes to writers and illustrators and educational programs and workshops aimed at children, families, schools and those who love the world of fairy tales and storytelling.

The Fairy Tale Museum is an extension of the work of the Systemic Institute of Cyprus, a Center for research, theoretical development and systemic applications and is located at Granikou 32, Paphos Gate area, in a beautiful preserved building.
